I have over twelve years of experience editing for undergrads, grads, websites, publications, and more. Here's my editing and writing price list, in Canadian dollars. All prices are subject to change, but this can give you a basic idea. I do all editing using Microsoft Word Track Changes or Google Docs Suggestions.

  • Payment is due at time of booking. I will send an invoice with all information. Appointments are not confirmed until payment is received.

  • Follow-up emails to meetings and editing are inevitable and the first two emails I send are included; after that, I charge $40/hour for email exchanges.

  • For all of the following services, I will help you to the best of my ability to achieve your goals, but I do not accept responsibility for performance, grades, etc. It’s your responsibility to make sure you are adhering to your institution’s academic integrity code of conduct.

  • I don’t provide free consultations. You can book a “Zoom Tutoring” meeting (see below) for a consultation.

Zoom Tutoring:

$40/hour

I provide private tutoring over Zoom to help talk you through your assignments and readings, plan out papers and presentations, and provide feedback as you write. I can help you understand how to perform research, understand your syllabus, and guide you through the writing process from beginning to end.

Appointments are available from 10am-7pm Monday-Friday Eastern time, and at double the rate by special appointment after 7pm and on weekends. If you cancel within one hour of our appointment, 50% of the amount you paid will be refunded.

Essay/Assignment Proofreading:

Starting at $5/page (double-spaced, 12pt Times font, 1” margins)

Got a finished final draft and need a fresh pair of eyes to catch mistakes? I can proofread for you!

When I proofread, I correct and/or highlight mistakes in your work. Proofreading does not include: instruction on the rules of grammar; reformulating of arguments; re-writing your work; or anything else other than correcting writing errors. Consider Zoom Tutoring (above) for more involved help.

Price is subject to change if material is particularly dense; an estimate will be given before I accept any work. Rush and weekend work is available; pricing to be negotiated.

Essay/Assignment Argument Help or Feedback:

Starting at $10/page (double-spaced, 12pt Times font, 1” margins)

If you're still in the earlier stage of essay development and you need more than just proofreading, I’ll help you hone your thesis statement to make it stronger and make sure your essay’s arguments prove it. This is more involved than proofreading. Personal statements for applications to med schools, etc., fall under this umbrella, but can be subject to extra charges if there is a lot of editing to do (e.g., to get you under the character limit).

This involves helping you develop a thesis and work on the structure of your essay. It does not include proofreading. It does not include grammar instruction, re-writes, or anything else other than argument feedback. Consider Zoom Tutoring (above) for more involved help.

Copyediting/Proofreading (non-ACADEMIC)

Grammar, punctuation, structure/“flow” editing and feedback: $10/page (double-spaced, 12pt Times font, 1” margins)

Subject to change if material needs heavier restructuring/sensitivity editing/“voice” editing. An additional charge for follow-up work, contract/NDA signing, or separate invoice creation/accounting work applies.

Sensitivity Editing

I have years of experience as a sensitivity editor starting even before the term existed. I edit to make sure that your work doesn't become the subject of the newest viral call-out tweet. Contact me for a quote. 

Copywriting

Ads, About Sections, Blog Posts, etc: $45/hour including applicable research.
